In Burn Your Maps, an eccentric 8-year-old boy who dreams of being a Mongolian goat herder. As his family deals with issues on the home front, Wes and his mother (Vera Farmiga) set out on a journey across the globe, where they meet a displaced immigrant and a “weird” nun (Virginia Madsen) and try to make their family whole again.

“Swamp Thing” Teaser Highlights a Love Story of a Different Kind!

The James Wan-produced “Swamp Thing” series is headed to streaming service DC Universe on May 31st and you can see the latest promo teaser below Crystal Reed and Derek Mears stars alongside Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott and Maria Sten. Directors include E.L. Katz and Len Wiseman.

“Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

The series, based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, is written by “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman. The series aiming to be scary and rated “R” violent, primarily based on Alan Moore’s run. It will also feature a practical creature suit, which Mears will be donning.

“Sideways” in Development as Broadway Musical!

Alexander Payne’s acclaimed 2004 dramedy is getting turned into a Broadway musical. Rex Pickett, who wrote the novel on which the Oscar-winning screenplay by Payne and Jim Taylor was based, is working with EFG-Renascence Productions to develop a musical based on the film.

For “Sideways, The Musical,” composer Anthony Adams will record six original songs for the project’s Broadway pitch.

The movie stars Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church as friends who embark on a week-long road trip through Santa Barbara wine country. They meet and romance two women, played by Virginia Madsen and Sandra Oh, along the way.
