DC Universe gives a first look at Swamp Thing!

Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe. Based on the DC characters originally written and drawn by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. A new original series Swamp Thing premieres on 31 May. New episodes weekly, only on DC Universe.

“Swamp Thing” gets a Premiere Date

A premiere date for Swamp Thing has been revealed by DC Universe. A few minutes ago at WonderCon, DC Universe finally announced an official premiere date for their upcoming original live-action series Swamp Thing…. and it’s only two months away! Look for Swamp Thing to premiere May 31, 2019 on DC Universe. Hopefully we will have a trailer soon.

The series stars Derek Mears at the title character with Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Crystal Reed, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott and Maria Sten.

“Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

“Swamp Thing” films along Wilmington’s riverfront!
