Vera Farmiga & Virginia Madsen Starring in “Burn Your Maps”

•• Vera Farmiga and Virginia Madsen are starring in Cinelou Films’ comedy-drama “Burn Your Maps,” with shooting starting next week in Alberta, Canada.

The film also stars Suraj Sharma (“Life of Pi”) and Jacob Tremblay. Cinelou partners Courtney Solomon and Mark Canton will produce with Patrick Aiello.

Jordan Roberts, who scripted Disney’s “Big Hero Six,” is directing from his own screenplay, which was adapted from the short story by Robyn Joy Leff.

“Burn Your Maps” centers on an American 8-year-old who declares to his parents that he is actually a Mongolian goat herder born in the wrong place. When he meets a similarly displaced Indian filmmaker, they journey east, seeking what they believe to be their true place in the world.

“Mark and I are thrilled to be working with such a visionary writer-director like Jordan, who created a heartfelt film about family with his work in ‘Big Hero Six,’” Solomon said. “We have no doubt, with the tremendous talent assembled here, that he will create the same magic.”

Year-old Cinelou produced Jennifer Aniston’s dark comedy “Cake” and is in post-production on the family drama “Henry Joseph Church,” starring Eddie Murphy and Britt Robertson, with Bruce Beresford directing. CAA packaged “Burn Your Maps” and is handling domestic rights.
