Here is the first trailer and poster of “Red Riding Hood”. From the director of Twilight, Catherine Hardwicke, comes a film surprisingly a lot like Twilight. This update on the Red Riding Hood tale stars Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Billy Burke, Shiloh Fernandez , Max Irons, Virginia Madsen, and Julie Christie.
Red Riding Hood hits theaters March 11th, 2011.
Synopsis: In “Red Riding Hood,” Seyfried plays Valerie, a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents (Virginia Madsen as her mother) have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon’s arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. As panic grips the town, Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast–one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect and bait.
I am so pleased to announce that Virginia has signed on to the ensemble of Red Riding Hood. Director Catherine Hardwicke’s Gothic variation on the classic fairy tale is set for Warner Bros. release March 11, 2011.
Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family’s displeasure.
Virginia will play the mother of Amanda Seyfried’s heroine in the werewolfilm, which was scripted by Orphan’s David Leslie Johnson. The cast also includes Lukas Haas, Shiloh Fernandez, Gary Oldman and Julie Christie.
I am so happy to announce that Virginia has a new movie role. She will star opposite Kevin Spacey as his ex-wife Lorainne in the comedy “Father of Invention.”
The movie will be produced by Trigger Street Prods.’ Spacey and Dana Brunetti plus Jonathan Krane and Ken Barbet. Trent Cooper directs from a script he wrote with Krane and Nichole Beatty. Scott Lumpkin exec produces. Lensing is under way.
“Father of Invention” centers on a humble inventor-turned-egomaniacal billionaire who loses it all when one of his inventions goes horribly awry. After eight years in federal prison, he returns to discover his ex-wife (Virginia’s role) has spent his fortune and remarried.
Camilla Belle, Heather Graham, Craig Robison and Johnny Knoxville also star.
In other news but same topic about roles, Virginia no longer appearing in the movie ‘Amelia’ as Dorothy Binney Putnam. She says her character was left on the cutting room floor plus she really enjoyed filming scenes for the movie and she is ready for her next flick!!
