•• Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen attended the Academy Awards ceremony last night, looking  absolutely amazing in a purple asymmetrical one-shoulder gown by Kevan Hall, accessorized with large emerald and diamond earrings, diamond bracelets and a diamond ring by Loree Rodkin and carried a minaudiere by Judith Leiber. About 390 pictures from the red carpet with actor Nick Holmes have been added to the photo gallery. Video files will be added tomorrow! Enjoy the new additions!

As past year, Virginia Madsen attended the Hollywood’s biggest night and she just showed up on the Oscars red carpet wearing a truly beautiful feathered “Romona Keveza” black and white dress. She opted for a curly updo, diamond chandelier earrings and a bright red lipstick. The gown is definitely a showstopper, the color is fresh, and the feathers add that extra something special.

Virginia Madsen, who was a 2004 Oscar nominee for Sideways for her role as Maya, said she chose her Romona Keveza gown for the 2011 Oscars because, “It really reminded me of the classic glamour of old Hollywood, and I always love the opportunity to dress up.” “There’s always somebody standing on the train.”

On November 13th Virginia attended the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2nd Annual Governors Awards held at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, California.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award to producer-director Francis Ford Coppola and Honorary Awards to historian and preservationist Kevin Brownlow, director Jean-Luc Godard and actor Eli Wallach. The Thalberg Award, a bust of the motion picture executive, is given to “a creative producer whose body of work reflects a consistently high quality of motion picture production.” The Honorary Award, an Oscar statuette, is given to an individual for “extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.”
