•• Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated actress Virginia Madsen has joined the growing list of guests for Texas Frightmare Weekend 2013!
Virginia Madsen has starred in roles such as Candyman, The Prophecy (Christopher Walken), The Haunting in Connecticut, The Number 23 (Jim Carrey), Sideways, Red Riding Hood and more. Audiences first caught a glimpse of her as “Princess Irulan” in the 1984 science fiction epic Dune. She followed that up with Electric Dreams; however, it was in 1986 that Virginia captured the hearts of the audience with an intense portrayal of a Catholic school girl who fell in love with a boy from a prison camp in Fire with Fire. With over 35 releases since Fire with Fire thus far, Virginia is a busy actress and has played a variety of roles which further enhance her reputation as a fantastic actress who can adapt to any kind of role.

•• This Saturday, July 21 Cinémas Palme D’Or in Palm Desert is proud to present a special screening of “The Magic of Belle Isle” with a live Q&A Session with the film’s star Academy Award nominated actress Virginia Madsen following the showing of the film. “The Magic of Belle Isle” is the story of a wheelchair-bound author (Morgan Freeman) that moves to a rural town, where he befriends a single mother (Virginia Madsen) and her three kids. She helps reignite his passion for writing. The film is rated PG for mild thematic elements and language including some suggestive comments and has a runtime of 1 hour and 49 minutes.

•• The Magic of Belle Isle’s Los Angeles red carpet premiere is tonight. The film is now available to rent on iTunes, on demand and in theaters on July 6th.
•• The third annual Aruba International Film Festival kicks off June 22, running through June 28 and ahead of the debut, organizers have solidified the lineup for this year’s event. Rob Reiner’s The Magic of Belle Isle, starring Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen, will open the festival. Virginia Madsen will be on hand for the red carpet premiere and the presentation of the film at Paseo Herencia.
As for the competition lineup, AIFF artistic director Claudio Masenza and founder Jonathan Vieira announced films from 18 different countries, several of which will make their international and South American debuts.
In addition to the competition, AIFF announced selections for its local, sidebar platform: the Caribbean Spotlight Series.
