A teaser trailer for The Devil’s Light is shown at CinemaCon, teasing demonic possession and horrifying visions in Daniel Stamm’s new horror film.
A teaser trailer for Daniel Stamm’s new supernatural horror film, The Devil’s Light, has been shown off behind closed doors at CinemaCon. Known for directing episodes of Fear the Walking Dead and Scream, as well as 2010’s The Last Exorcism, the film marks Stamm’s first feature length film in seven years. Based on a story by Robert Zappia, Earl Richey Jones, and Todd Jones, with all three serving as producers and Zappia also adapting the screenplay, The Devil’s Light stars Jacqueline Byers as Sister Ann, a nun studying to perform exorcisms, who comes face to face with a demonic force tied to her past.
The Devil’s Light also stars Swamp Thing’s Virginia Madsen, Krypton’s Colin Salmon, 13 Reasons Why’s Christian Navarro, and Star Trek’s Ben Cross. The film marks one of Cross’ final film roles as the actor tragically passed away in April 2020 after battling cancer; The Devil’s Light will also be dedicated to him. Cross was perhaps best known for playing Olympian Harold Abrahams in Chariots of Fire as well as more recently appearing in Netflix’s The Last Letter from Your Lover as an older version of Callum Turner’s Anthony O’Hare.
The film was originally slated to release earlier this year but was unfortunately delayed. While no replacement date has been confirmed, The Devil’s Light is now expected to release in 2022.
